When you buy a used car for sale from a private party you can find good deals often below book value. It is to your advantage to know a vehicles value before you negotiate of buy it. Finding a used car at a fair price is great but you can often negotiate a cheaper price by offer 25% below asking price. You could end up saving hundreds sometimes thousands over the life of the loan if you did your homework first. Less reputable used car dealers often take advantage or people who fail to know their loan options. Sometimes you will find that a dealer may be able to beat all your other loan quotes.
Many people when searching for used cars often start in the classifieds and used car lots. Sometime you best deals can be found at a used car auction. Car auctions are in every state and major city from Arizona to Maine and can be repo, police, public and online car auctions and usually require you to pay for the vehicle the same day and take delivery and you will find yourself competing against dealers because the deals are often fantastic.
Knowing the cars your interested it would be wise to have your insurance agent to give you a quote. Some cars carry higher insurance costs and this could cost you more on the operating cost of your used car significantly especially if your a young risky driver with a less than perfect driving record. Consider researching all vehicle related costs with a used car before making buying a used car.
